It’s been reported that a teenage girl was sexually assaulted on a bus travelling to the town centre in Buckland Avenue, at around 7.50am on Thursday 19 October 2023. The victim had stood up with a friend, ready to get off the bus, when a man inappropriately touched her over clothing. The bus came to a stop and the victim was able to leave without further contact.

Detectives investigating the incident have issued an image of a man they would like to identify. He’s described as being in his 50s-60s, white and less than six feet tall, with a slim build and long grey hair, which he wore tied up. His nose appears to have possibly been broken.
