Maidstone Borough Council (MBC) has given two playgrounds in Barming, Maidstone a makeover, adding new and exciting equipment for the young ones.

At Freshland Road Play Area, kids can enjoy a spring seesaw that has a comfy back and foot support for everyone to join in. The other seat is big enough for grown-ups to sit and play with their kids too. The rubber surface under the other play items has also been fixed to make it safer and smoother.

Tarragon Road Play Area has a new Octopus seesaw that can rock gently or wildly, depending on how adventurous the kids are feeling. It has strong hand and foot supports and a spring base for extra fun.

There is also a new surface under the table tennis table, which used to be on grass. Now, it can be used all year round, rain or shine. Friends and families can bring their own bats and balls and have a friendly match of Ping-Pong.

Cllr Patrik Garten, Cabinet Member for Environmental Services at MBC said:

“We are delighted with the new look of these playgrounds, and we hope the local children will love the new equipment. It’s a great way to encourage them to go outside, be active and have a blast. The new equipment is also safe and meets the latest standards.”

The money for these improvements came from a Planning Agreement related to a new housing development in the area.
