Fire ripped through a caravan and a car parked on a residential road in Herne Bay on New Year’s Eve.

The blaze started around 10.45pm near Morris Avenue in Swalecliffe and spread to a fence and a hedge.

Three fire engines from Kent Fire and Rescue Service arrived at the scene and put out the blaze using hose reel jets. They left the scene at 12.25am on New Year’s Day.

It was reported that no one was hurt in the incident and the cause is as yet unknown.
