A man has been charged with robbery after allegedly assaulting a man in his 60s and stealing his cash in Gravesend. The incident happened on Berkley Crescent on 13 December 2023, when the victim stopped to help a person in need.
He was then attacked and forced to withdraw money from an ATM by a stranger.
The suspect was arrested by neighbourhood officers on 4 January 2024, while patrolling King Street. The 40-year-old man from Northfleet was later charged by North Kent CID and appeared in court on 6 January. He was granted conditional bail until his next hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on 5 February.
