A man has been charged with stabbing another man who was hit by a car during a brawl in Broadstairs.

The incident happened on Monday 8 January 2024 at around 12.15pm in Yarrow Close, where a group of people were involved in a disturbance.

Kent Police said they received reports of a collision between a car and a man, who suffered a broken leg and other injuries. He was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Two suspects, an 18-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy, were arrested on the same day on suspicion of affray. They were later bailed until further investigation.

A third suspect, a 43-year-old man from Ramsgate, was arrested and charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a knife in a public place.

He appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 9 January and was released on bail until his next hearing at Canterbury Crown Court on 12 February 2024.
