Four charged after 23 homes burgled in Gravesend and Medway

Four suspected burglars have been charged following reports that 23 homes were targeted in Gravesend and Medway. Property including cash, jewellery and designer clothing was stolen during break-ins between 15 September and 31 December 2023.

An investigation by detectives from the Kent Crime Squad led to the arrest of three men on Wednesday 3 and Thursday 4 January 2024. A further suspect was detained on Thursday 11 January.

A man aged 56 from Eltham, Greater London; a 51-year-old man from Thamesmead and a 32-year-old man from Dartford were later charged with conspiracy to commit burglary.

All three appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday 5 January. The 56 and 51 year-old men were remanded and a man aged 32 conditionally bailed to a hearing at Woolwich Crown Court on 2 February. A 22-year-old man from Thamesmead was also charged with conspiracy to commit burglaries and was remanded to appear before Medway Magistrate’s court on Friday 12 January.
