Investigators have arrested a man suspected of breaking into Sheerness fire station and other properties across Kent.

On Friday 19 January 2024, jewellery and other items were reported stolen following two burglaries and an attempted burglary in Joy Lane, Whitstable.

Two days later personal belongings including a bank card were reported stolen after a Kent Fire and Rescue building was targeted in Sheerness. The following day police were notified of a further break-in at a house in Augustine Road, Minster-on-Sea on Monday 22 January.

Following the most recent incident a 45-year-old man was arrested. He remains in custody while an investigation continues.
