A police drone has been used to help track down a stolen caravan to Dartford. The vehicle was taken from a farmyard in Cheshire and located by Kent Police’s Rural Task Force more than 200 miles away.

The stolen caravan

The caravan had been reported stolen on Saturday 3 February 2024, and local officers then acted on information that by the following weekend it had entered Kent. On Saturday 10 February, a constable deployed a drone to help view possible locations where it may be parked and the caravan was successfully found in Darenth Wood Road, Dartford.

Patrols arrived at the location and inside the vehicle they found a 23-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman.

They were both arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods and theft. The suspects have since been bailed until Wednesday 8 May, while enquiries continue.
