A court order to close a Snodland flat linked to complaints of anti-social behaviour and harassment has been extended for another three months.
The closure order for the property in Pollyfields Close was originally granted at Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on 24 November 2023, following allegations of repeated nuisance and criminal behaviour from a local tenant.
Officers from the Tonbridge and Malling Community Safety Unit acted against the property and since the original order was made there have been no new reports of anti-social behaviour or criminal offences linked to this block of flats. On 20 February 2024, the closure order was successfully extended following a hearing at the same court. It will now last until 23 May and continues to prevent anyone, other than the landlord, from visiting the property. Failure to comply can result in a custodial sentence or unlimited fine.

‘The extension of this order will give further respite to residents and enable us to work with housing officers to prevent any future crime and disorder at the property, using all powers available to us to respond robustly.
‘Ultimately, these types of issues can make people’s lives a misery and we hope the work undertaken to gather a case for this order will reassure the community that we do not tolerate it and we will respond with appropriate action.’
