A suspect has been charged in connection with a series of thefts from cars in Maidstone.

Kent Police has been investigating a number of allegations concerning vehicles parked in Weavering, Downswood and Bearsted.

A man was arrested during the early hours of Tuesday 27 February 2024, following an investigation by the Maidstone Victim Based Crime Team.

The 30-year-old of no fixed abode has since been charged with seven counts of interfering with a motor vehicle and two counts of theft from a motor vehicle, relating to incidents on Sunday 25 February. He was remanded to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 28 February.

Officers are continuing to investigate allegations of further offences and are also seeking to speak to possible victims who have not yet come forward.
