Investigators from the Kent Crime Squad completed immediate enquiries into the incident, including the examination of CCTV, and on Wednesday 28 February a suspect was arrested in James Street, Gillingham.

A 17-year-old boy from Gillingham was subsequently charged with robbery and possession of a knife in a public place. The teenager appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday 1 March. He was remanded to a hearing at Medway Youth Court on Thursday 7 March.
