Kent Police report that around 7.15pm on Friday 1 March 2024, proactive patrols stopped a suspicious vehicle in Sovereign Way, Tonbridge and a subsequent search led to the seizure of a large quantity of toiletries, including toothbrushes, nappies, and nicotine replacement products, suspected to be stolen.

Officers also seized two pairs of licence plates. The driver and the passenger were arrested at the scene.

A man aged 19, from Ashford and 26-year-old man from Galway, were later charged with shoplifting. The 19-year-old was further charged for driving without insurance. Both suspects have since been bailed to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 19 March.
