Police have charged a suspected burglar with multiple offences after a car collided with a motorcycle near Swanley.

On 25 February 2024, proactive patrols identified a blue Toyota connected to a series of break-ins and vehicle thefts in west Kent and Surrey. The Toyota failed to stop when required by officers and a pursuit took place. The vehicle was later involved in a collision with a motorcycle, in Green Court Road, Crockenhill.

The motorcyclist and pillion passenger both suffered serious injuries. The driver of the Toyota left the scene on foot but officers were unable to locate him.

On Tuesday 5 March, a man, of no fixed address, was arrested in Peckham. He was charged with two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, two counts of criminal damage, conspiring to steal a motor vehicle, conspiring to commit burglary, and dangerous driving.

The 43-year-old appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 7 March. He was remanded in custody until a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court, on Friday 5 April.
