A second suspect has been charged in connection with a serious assault alleged to have taken place in Herne Bay on Sunday 3 March 2024. Police were called to the High Street at around 3.30am following reports that a man and woman had been assaulted. They were taken to a local hospital and have since been discharged.
On Sunday 10 March, detectives charged a man aged 29, with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and assault causing actual bodily harm. The accused, of no fixed address, appeared before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Monday 11 March and was remanded in custody to appear before Canterbury Crown Court on Monday 8 April.
Another 29-year-old man from Herne Bay was previously charged on Tuesday 5 March with grievous bodily harm with intent and assault causing actual bodily harm. He was remanded to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday 8 April. A 21-year-old woman, also arrested in connection with the incident, has been bailed pending further enquiries.
