Kent Police Officers have arrested a man and seized an imitation firearm after an attempted burglary was reported in Canterbury.

Police received a call at 1.51pm on Saturday 9 March 2024 saying a group of men were behaving suspiciously outside an address in St Thomas Hill.

Officers arrived at the scene and detained five men. A search led to an imitation firearm, a knife and a set of bolt cutters being recovered. An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm, possession of a bladed article and going equipped to steal. He has since been bailed pending further enquiries.
