Two suspects have been charged after a pensioner in her 90s was the victim of a reported robbery in Rainham High Street between 1pm and 1.10pm on Monday 11 March 2024.
The victim was approached by a man and a woman and then allegedly assaulted as her handbag was stolen. Officers were called to the scene and around three hours later arrested two suspects.
A man from New Southgate, London and a woman from Tunbridge Wells, were later charged with robbery.
The man aged 24, appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 13 March where he was remanded and will appear at Maidstone Crown Court on a date to be determined. The woman aged 21 was conditionally bailed to a hearing at Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on 26 April.
