A 12-year-old boy has made an appearance in court, facing charges of attempted murder in Sittingbourne.

The charges stem from an incident where a teenage girl sustained serious injuries in Adelaide Drive around 3:55 PM on Friday, March 22, 2024. The boy, whose identity remains undisclosed due to legal considerations related to his age, was swiftly apprehended following the incident.

After a thorough investigation by Kent Police, the Crown Prosecution Service authorised the charges of attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

He appeared before the Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday, March 25, and has been remanded to appear at the Maidstone Crown Court on Monday, April 22.
