The Kent Battle of Britain Museum Trust, located at Hawkinge, has officially reopened its doors to the public on Good Friday, March 29th, marking the start of the 2024 season. Visitors flocked to the museum, setting a new record for the busiest first day since its inception in 1965.
The museum, founded by a dedicated group of volunteers led by the late Mike Llewellyn MBE, boasts the world’s most extensive collection of Battle of Britain artefacts. From historic aircraft to personal mementos, the exhibits provide a vivid glimpse into the heroic struggles of the past.
Visitors are invited to explore the museum’s treasures until Sunday, November 10th, 2024. It’s open Tuesdays through Sundays, with the exception of Mondays when it is closed, (except for Bank Holidays).
Today, Easter Monday (April 1st), presents an excellent opportunity to immerse yourself in the stories of valour and sacrifice that defined the Battle of Britain.
