Residents are encouraged to contribute to shaping the future of the district’s active travel network by providing feedback on draft proposals.

The Folkestone and Hythe Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan outlines recommendations for new and improved walking, cycling, and wheeling routes. These enhancements aim to facilitate more journeys on foot or by bicycle for both residents and visitors.

Once approved, this plan will strengthen the case for future investments in active travel. The collaborative efforts of both the Folkestone & Hythe District Council and Kent County Council have yielded successful outcomes in recent years.

As part of the consultation process, input is sought on preferred cycling and walking routes, including those accessible to residents using wheelchairs or mobility aids. The consultation period concludes at 11:59 PM on Sunday, April 21.

A spokesperson from the Folkestone & Hythe District Council emphasized the importance of local insights and feedback in addressing challenges and seizing opportunities for active travel improvements. These transformations can alleviate congestion, enhance air quality, promote physical and mental well-being, and contribute to the local economy.

To participate, visit the public consultation webpage to review the documents and share your thoughts. Alternatively, paper forms can be completed at the Civic Centre in Folkestone during regular opening hours.
