Arrests and charges have been made after a man aged 26, is reported to have fled the dock at Canterbury Crown Court during a hearing on Thursday 4 April 2024.
Officers carried out enquiries into his whereabouts and arrested him at a property in Herne Bay on Wednesday 10 April. The man, who is from Broadstairs, has since been charged with escaping from lawful custody and possession of cannabis.
Two other men have also been charged with assisting him including a man aged 45, who is alleged to have purchased a SIM card as well as arranged transportation, food and housing.
A man aged 38 from Herne Bay, is alleged to have transported and housed the defendant who has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 11 April.
The two other men have both been bailed to attend the same court on Thursday 25 April.
