Between Wednesday 27 March and Monday 8 April 2024, Kent Police was alerted to seven break-ins or attempted burglaries in Folkestone, Hythe, Dymchurch and St Mary’s Bay.

An investigation was launched and officers from Folkestone’s Local Policing Team identified a vehicle potentially linked to the incidents.

On the evening of Wednesday 10 April, that vehicle was spotted and stopped in Romney Marsh and five men were arrested on suspicion of burglary. Items thought to be stolen have were seized and the suspects, who are aged between 18 and 70, remain in custody while an investigation continues.
