Police say two teenagers have been charged with setting fire to several parked cars in Tonbridge.

The charges relate to alleged arson attacks last year outside residential properties in The Chase. Officers, alongside Kent Fire and Rescue Service were initially called to the road at around 12.20am on 18 May 2023. Three vehicles were destroyed. Arrests were made at the scene and an investigation was led by the Tonbridge Victim Based Crime.

On Wednesday 17 April 2024, Kent Police was granted authority from the Crown Prosecution Service to charge both suspects with three counts of arson with recklessness as to whether life was endangered. They are bailed with conditions to appear before Medway Youth Court on 6 June.
