On the morning of Wednesday, May 8, 2024, officers from the Community Safety Unit in Folkestone were conducting discreet patrols when they spotted a vehicle of interest near Manor Road which prompted their suspicion.

The car stopped and officers spoke to the driver before she was detained. A bag of white powder, believed to be cocaine, was seized by officers and a further search revealed a bag containing a white rock, also thought to be cocaine.

The following day, officers from Folkestone CID charged a 31-year-old woman with possession of a class A drug, relating to the incident on 8 May.

She was further charged in relation to previous alleged offences with five counts of possession with intent to supply a class A drug, one count of possession of a class A drug, three counts of possession of a class B drug and drug-driving.

The woman appeared at an initial hearing before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on 10 May and was remanded in custody to appear next at Canterbury Crown Court on 10 June.
