Emergency services rushed to a disastrous collision involving a cyclist and a stationary car opposite the entrance to Strood railway station at around 11.20am on Tuesday 14 May 2024. The cyclist, a man in his 70s, was taken to hospital where he later died.

Witnesses and dashcam footage are sought following the incident in which a cyclist was riding a black bike in Canal Road towards the High Street, when there was a collision with the driver’s door of a stationary red MG ZS.

Officers from Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, or saw the car or bike beforehand, to call the SCIU witness appeal line on 01622 798538 quoting XX/HM/049/24. Alternatively, you can email investigators on sciu.td@kent.police.uk
