During the early hours of Sunday 19 May 2024, it was reported that a victim’s house was broken into in Potyns Walk where car keys were taken and then used to take the victim’s car, a silver Volkswagen transporter from outside.

It was seen to travel down Cemetery Road, towards Constitution Hill but vigilant officers on patrol in the area were alerted to the burglary and located the stolen vehicle where they pursued it to Clock Tower Mews before it came to a stop.

Two people were seen to leave the vehicle and a 30-year-old man from Snodland was subsequently arrested on suspicion of burglary and theft of a motor vehicle. He has since been bailed pending further enquiries. The second suspect remain outstanding.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time or who may have dash cam footage/door bell footage from the Potyns Walk/Holborough Road areas from 3.40am on Sunday 19 May 2024.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Kent Police on 01622 604100 quoting reference 46/81581/24.
