After being refused entry to Canada, a suspected burglar has been detained at Heathrow airport and arrested in connection with a Sevenoaks burglary.

Just before 7.30pm on Thursday 8 February 2024, emergency call handlers received a report of three masked men leaving a property near St John’s Hill. The suspects allegedly left the scene by foot prior to officers’ arrival.

On Tuesday 21 May, a man was refused entry to Canada and arrested upon his return to the UK, for suspected involvement in the break-in.

The man, of no fixed address, was later charged for ten counts of burglary relating to incidents across seven counties, including Kent, Essex, London, Surrey, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, and Wiltshire. The 37-year-old appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday 24 May. He has since been remanded in custody pending a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday 21 June.
