Kent Fire and Rescue Service was alerted after reports of a person stuck in mud off Central Parade in Herne Bay today.
Two fire engines arrived at the scene and crews wearing dry suits set about releasing the person and bringing them to the beach where they were transferred into the care of SECAmb paramedics.
After the potentially dangerous incident firefighters were keen to remind the public not to try and enter extremely muddy areas as they can often be much deeper than they appear, making them very difficult to escape from.
If you spot someone struggling in mud, don’t try to rescue them yourself. Call 999 and ask for the fire service.
