Kent Police was called at 7.46am on Saturday 1 June 2024 to an address in Beachborough Road, following a report that a woman had been assaulted.
It is alleged that a man and a woman, who were known to the victim, had entered the property earlier that morning and assaulted the woman before leaving the scene. Officers arrived and South East Coast Ambulance Service treated the woman for injuries before she was taken to a local hospital. She has since been discharged.
Enquiries were carried out and a man and a woman were arrested later that morning.
On Sunday 2 June, detectives from East Kent CID charged a man and a woman from Folkestone with assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Following an initial hearing at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court, the pair were both remanded in custody to appear before Canterbury Crown Court on Monday 1 July.
