A man has been remanded in custody after detectives investigating a series of burglaries and thefts in north and west Kent charged a suspect from London.
On 3 April 2024, a resident of Wilmington, Dartford reported an Audi and a Mercedes had been stolen overnight from their driveway, after the keys were stolen from inside the house. Several days later on 12 April, staff at Boots the Chemist in Sevenoaks High Street reported perfume valued at £6,441 had been stolen and on 4 June, police were called to Savers in Dartford High Street after a suspected stolen vehicle was used to gain entry to the premises and perfume worth £3,363 had been taken.
Investigators from the Kent Crime Squad completed enquiries into all three incidents and, on Friday 18 June, a search warrant was executed at an address in London. A suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
The suspect, a man from Welling, Greater London, was charged later the same day with two burglaries, four thefts and dishonestly receiving a stolen Range Rover. The 34-year-old was remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 19 June.
