Plain clothes police officers in Canterbury city centre detained and searched two people after witnessing suspicious activity on the afternoon of Tuesday 25 June 2024.
Both were then arrested on suspicion of drugs offences and suspected class A drugs were seized, along with cash. Detectives from Kent Police’s County Lines and Gangs Team have since charged a man and a teenager with various offences.
A man aged 20, from Rotherhithe, London, is charged with being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin, possession of crack cocaine with intent to supply and possession of criminal property and an 18-year-old from Sittingbourne, is also charged with the same offences, as well as possession of cannabis.
Both men are due to appear before Margate Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 27 June.
