Police patrols have responded swiftly to make four arrests after a Dartford resident reported seeing a suspected intruder.

The incident happened at around 1.30am on Monday 1 July 2024, at an address in Stone. The victim alleged a man, holding what is described as a knife, had been disturbed at their bedroom window.

The suspect is then reported to have fled the scene in a vehicle accompanied by others.

Around 20 minutes later, patrols located a Mercedes travelling towards London along East Rochester Way. Assisted by the Metropolitan Police the vehicle was stopped at Shooters Hill and four people were detained.

A man aged 19, of no fixed address; a woman aged 22, from Croydon, and two 17-year-old boys from Greater London, were later charged by investigators from North Kent CID, with aggravated burglary.

The man and two teenagers were remanded to Medway Magistrates’ Court. They will next appear at a hearing before Maidstone Crown Court on Monday 29 July.

The woman, who was also charged with a further count of driving without insurance, was conditionally bailed by the police to Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday 25 August.
