London man remanded to Crown Court after Medway burglary and pursuit in Maidstone

A suspect has appeared in court after a resident in City Way, Rochester reported a man had attempted to break into their house on Monday 19 February 2024.

The suspect left the scene and around a hour later a vehicle was pursued by a patrol in Sutton Road, Maidstone. It is alleged the driver of the car drove dangerously until the officers lost sight of the vehicle. It was later recovered having been left at Headcorn railway station.

An investigation by North Kent CID led to the arrest of a man from Hanwell, Greater London on Wednesday 3 July. He was later charged with burglary and driving dangerously.

The 24-year-old appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on the following day and was remanded to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on 2 August.
