Although many people in Kent woke to sunshine, the second half of the day is predicted to take a turn for the worse for those hoping for fine weather.

Weather experts at the Met Office are predicting heavy rain with a risk of localised flooding from 3.00pm this afternoon (15 July).

People are warned to expect

  • Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures
  • Where flooding occurs, there is a slight chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services
  • There is a slight chance of power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses
  • There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings
