Students during the event latest

On Friday 5 July 2024 officers from Medway’s Community Safety Unit visited the Year Five students at Delce Academy in Rochester.

During the visit, PC Isuru Ranaweera and Police Community Support Officer Rowan Cornwall spoke to the 11-and 12-year-olds about different job roles within the police, how to become a Police Cadet and different ways to join the force.

They also showed the pupils inside a police van and spoke to them about different types of crime and the consequences of these crimes.

PC Ranaweera said:

‘The students really enjoyed meeting us and we felt like we were able to give them lots of useful advice. They were full of questions and curiosity, and it was a really beneficial event which I’m pleased we were able to attend.’
