Police were called at 3.40am on Wednesday 24 July 2024 to a report that three men had entered a property on St Paul’s Road in Cliftonville and had made threats to two residents who were allegedly asked to hand over money. One man was assaulted before the suspects left the scene by car.
Officers arrived at the scene and a man was taken to a local hospital for medical treatment. He has since been discharged.
Following an investigation by Kent Police that involved working with South Yorkshire Police, two men were arrested and later charged in connection with the incident.
Two from Sheffield were each charged on Friday 26 July with robbery, possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and possession of an offensive weapon.
They were due to appear before Sheffield Magistrates’ Court later that day.
