At around 8.50pm on Tuesday 30 July 2024, police officers were on patrol in Delce Road, Rochester when they saw a Ford Focus being driven at a speed they thought was too fast in a residential area.
The car failed to stop for the constables and it was pursued through Chatham town centre to Strover Street, Gillingham, where it collided with a parked vehicle.
The officers seized cocaine, cannabis and mobile phones from inside the car, which was later found to be stolen. A man and a woman were arrested and taken into custody.
A 31-year-old man and a woman aged 21 from Hartlip, were later charged with possession of cocaine with intent to supply and possession of cannabis with intent to supply. The man was also charged with dangerous driving, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, no insurance and handling stolen property.
Both suspects were remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 1 August.
