A neighbourhood police officer has responded to concerns from Tonbridge residents by executing a search warrant at a suspected dealer’s address.

Seized drugs and cash.

The constable regularly speaks to members of the community whilst on patrol in the town centre and recently received information connected to anti-social behaviour and disorder, in the vicinity of a property in Baker Lane.

A search warrant was obtained under the Misuse of Drugs Act and, on Friday 26 July 2024, it was executed by local officers. A lump of suspected cocaine and 30 individual deal bags of the drug were seized along with around 50 grams of cannabis, a mobile phone and £780 in cash.

A local woman in her 30s was arrested on suspicion of drug dealing offences and was later bailed while further enquiries were completed.

Police Sergeant Jon Turtle said:

‘Our neighbourhood officers are visible whilst on patrol every day and are keen to hear about the issues that matter most to the community. Where information is received about criminal activity affecting the quality of life of residents, they will go the extra mile to resolve the issue and use enforcement when appropriate.’
