Man charged after staff threatened in Broadstairs robbery

A suspect has been charged following a reported robbery of a business in Broadstairs.

Kent Police was called at 6.42am on Saturday 3 August 2024 to a report that two men had entered premises on Ramsgate Road and had made threats to staff. It was alleged that money was taken from the till and the men then left the area. Officers attended and, shortly afterwards, arrested two men in connection with the incident.

On Sunday 4 August, a man aged 21 and from Deal was charged with robbery, possession of a knife and possession of an offensive weapon. He was remanded in custody to appear before Margate Magistrates’ Court on Monday 5 August.

A 19-year-old man was bailed pending further enquiries.
