A fifth person has been charged following an investigation into a robbery in the Cliftonville area of Margate.
Kent Police had been called at 3.40am on Wednesday 24 July 2024 to a report that threats were made to two residents after three men had entered a property in St Paul’s Road in Cliftonville.
It was alleged that the victims were asked to hand over money and one man was assaulted before the suspects left the scene by car. Police arrived at the scene and a man was taken to a local hospital for medical treatment.
The investigation by Kent Police has already resulted in the charging of four men in connection with the incident and on Wednesday 21 August, a fifth arrest was made by officers.
A 53-year-old man from Enfield, London, was charged the following day with robbery, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear. He was remanded to appear at Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 22 August.
