Kent Police is appealing for doorbell camera and CCTV images after two men tried to steal a car at around 1am on Monday 19 August 2024, outside a property in The Old Walk, Otford.

The suspects managed to access the Volvo XC60 but then fled the scene after they were unable to start it.

It is believed the men may have overridden a keyless entry system to enter the car, before leaving empty handed and walking in the direction of The Butts. They were both wearing face masks, baseball caps with black motifs on the front, and shorts. One was carrying a rucksack.

The attempted theft was reported to Kent Police on Sunday 25 August and officers are urging residents in nearby roads to check any security systems which may show the suspects’ movements. Anyone with information should call the west Kent appeals line on 01622 604100, quoting reference 46/143787/24.
