A boy from Sheerness has been charged in connection with an allegation of a serious sexual assault in Medway.

Detectives investigating a report that on Tuesday 20 August 2024 a woman who had been walking in the Great Lines Heritage Park, and was threatened and assaulted by an unknown male, has resulted in the arrest of a 16-year-old boy in the Sheerness area on Wednesday 28 August.

He has since been charged with attempted rape and remanded in custody. The suspect will appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday 30 August.
