On Sunday, September 1st, Gillingham residents met up with their local beat officers at the inaugural ‘Love Gillingham’ event, organized by Medway Council.
Throughout the day, officers chatted with the community, addressing policing concerns and discussing issues affecting the area. The event featured live performances by local artists, creative workshops, and street performers, providing a vibrant atmosphere for residents.
The event also allowed partner agencies and organizations to collaborate with the community, exploring ways to improve the town.
Medway beat officer PC Marcus Fuller praised the event, saying,
“This was a really positive event to attend and laid a great platform for local residents and organizations to engage and build relationships with one another. We enjoyed meeting everyone and spent time offering advice to those who needed it.”
The ‘Love Gillingham’ event successfully fostered community spirit and strengthened the bond between residents and local authorities.
