Kent Police are urgently seeking witnesses following a tragic collision in Herne Bay. The incident occurred at 8:30 PM on Friday, 6 September 2024, on the A2990, Old Thanet Way. A black taxi, traveling towards Herne Bay, struck a pedestrian walking a dog between the Chestfield and Greenhill roundabouts.

Emergency services, including the South East Coast Ambulance Service, responded swiftly but sadly, a woman in her 60s and her dog were pronounced dead at the scene. The woman’s next of kin have been informed.

Serious collision investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding the incident and are urging anyone with information who has not yet spoken to the police to come forward.
