Hold onto your hats, folks! The baa-rilliant ‘Shaun the Sheep in the Heart of Kent’ art trail is about to bid us adieu, leaving Maidstone a little less woolly and a lot less colourful.
This summer spectacle, brought to you by Heart of Kent Hospice and backed by Maidstone Borough Council (MBC), is gearing up for a grand Farewell Weekend from September 13-15 at the MBC Maidstone Market Hall, Lockmeadow.
Over 100 Shaun the Sheep sculptures will be on display one last time, and the Council couldn’t be more thrilled with the trail’s success. The dazzling designs have drawn in crowds from near and far, with locals and visitors alike flocking to see the Shauns.
Cllr David Naghi, MBC’s Cabinet Member for Community Cohesion and Safety, gushed about the event:
“The Shaun the Sheep trail has been a fantastic addition to the town centre this summer. It’s been heart-warming to see thousands snapping selfies, scanning codes, and discovering hidden gems in Maidstone.”
There’s a big shoutout to all the volunteers who kept the sculptures looking their best!
Don’t miss your chance to see Shaun and his flock one last time at the Farewell Weekend. It’s also your final opportunity to snag some trail merchandise, meet the artists, and unlock any missing app codes.
Tickets are up for grabs now at the Shaun in the Heart of Kent website. And if you’re dreaming of giving one of these baa-utiful sculptures a forever home, mark your calendars for the charity auction on September 26 at the Clive Emson Conference Centre. All proceeds go to the Heart of Kent Hospice.
Booking is now open and tickets can be purchased at the Shaun in the Heart of Kent website: https://shaunheartofkent.co.uk/events/farewell-weekend/
