Court date set for Canterbury antisocial behaviour suspects after fiery rampage

Two suspects are to appear in court in relation to antisocial behaviour in Canterbury.

Kent Police carried out an investigation into reports of incidents in the Thanington area, said to have happened during the evening of Sunday 7 January 2024, into the early hours of the following day. Damage was reported to a car, registration plates from vehicles were reported stolen, and five bins were found alight.

During their enquiries, police stopped a vehicle on Monday, 10 January, leading to the arrest of three people. On 12 September, charges of aiding and abetting arson and criminal damage were brought against an 18-year-old from Ashford. He is scheduled to appear at Margate Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 26 September.

Additionally, an 18-year-old from Faversham has been summoned to the same court to face charges of theft and criminal damage. A 16-year-old from Canterbury, who was also arrested, received a caution after admitting his involvement in the offences.
