Warm up winter with £30k in grants for Community Centres!

Community centres across Kent, Sussex, Hampshire, and the Isle of Wight have a golden opportunity to secure funding from Southern Water to help keep their doors open and their communities warm this winter.

Southern Water is offering 30 grants, each worth £1,000, to support hubs providing essential services across the region. These grants aim to cover the rising costs of energy bills and other crucial running expenses.

Now in its third year, this impactful grants programme has already supported over 40 community venues, including social pantries, homeless drop-in spaces, and arts centres which serve as vital hubs for events, support groups, classes, winter warmer spaces, and befriender clubs.

Alex Willumsen, Community Partnerships and Programme Manager at Southern Water, emphasized the importance of these centres:

“We know community centres play a vital role in the lives of so many people across our region, especially during the winter. They provide not only essential services but also a safe space to keep warm. We are pleased to once again offer these grants to help ensure they can continue to support local communities.”

Applications are now open and will close at 5pm on 31 October 2024. Don’t miss out on this chance to make a difference! Apply now at Southern Water’s Community Centre Grant page.
