A suspected thief is due to appear in court after businesses in a Greenhithe shopping centre were targeted on a number of occasions during August.
Between 6 August and 27 August 2024, staff at John Lewis reported nine thefts of designer clothing, food items and alcohol valued at more than £3,500.
On 27 August a suspect was detained by security staff and arrested. Constables also seized some shoes and perfume from Next and Boots.
A man from Gravesend was bailed and, on his return to the police station on Friday 4 October, was charged with 11 thefts.
The 44-year-old was then conditionally bailed to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 24 October.
