Dover man arrested in connection with violent seafront robbery

A local man has been arrested in connection with a robbery that occurred earlier this month in the town.

The incident took place on Thursday, October 10th, when a man was assaulted and robbed of his money in Marine Parade. The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of head injuries.

Following an investigation involving CCTV footage and witness statements, Kent Police officers identified a suspect. On the same day, a neighbourhood officer on foot patrol in Pencester Gardens spotted a person matching the description of the wanted man.

A 27-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested and subsequently released on bail pending further inquiries. In addition to the robbery, he is also being investigated for separate shoplifting and card fraud offences.
