In a stunning blow to a brazen car-theft gang operating in Swale, local cops have recovered four stolen Ford Fiestas in less than 24 hours.

The daring thieves had targeted the popular model, snatching three from Sittingbourne and two from Minster-on-Sea between Tuesday and Wednesday. But their joyride was short-lived as sharp-eyed officers tracked down the vehicles to various locations around the area.

A spokesperson for Swale Police praised the officers’ “excellent work” in recovering the cars.

“They used their local knowledge to pinpoint the stolen vehicles,” the spokesperson said. “All of the cars had keyless entry systems, and we believe the thieves used a special device to bypass the security.”

To prevent becoming a victim, police are urging owners of Ford Fiestas to take extra precautions.

“Never leave your keys near a window or door,” warned the spokesperson. “Consider investing in a Faraday pouch or box to block the signal from your car key.”

If you’ve been the victim of a car theft, report the incident to the police immediately here.
