Patrols have made an arrest following a report of two serious assaults in Gillingham. Kent Police was called to the incident in an alleyway between Sunnymead Avenue and Chicago Avenue, at 3.14pm on Friday 25 October 2024.

Officers rushed to the scene with South East Coast Ambulance Service and two men were treated for injuries consistent with stab wounds. Both were taken to a London hospital for medical attention where one victim remains in a serious but stable condition. The other has since been discharged. Later the same day a teenage boy was arrested in connection with the incident and taken into custody.

Detective Inspector Martin Carter said: 

‘Officers are still seeking others who may have been connected with the incident and left the scene prior to the arrival of patrols. We are appealing to witnesses who have not yet spoken to the police to contact our appeal line.

‘We are also asking motorists and residents with private CCTV to check for relevant footage that may assist our investigation.’
